What is trackback?
TrackBack system was introduced in 2002 by the company Six Apart ( www.sixapart.com ) for the Movable Type blogging platform (open source). The
TrackBack is a protocol for communication between peer-to-peer websites. The heart of
TrackBack TrackBack Ping is, that the information sent via URL that states that the "resource A resource is connected to B". Using the
TrackBack web sites can communicate with each other and share resources . The concept of "sharing" is very important for any website, especially for blogs that in practice "live" and thrive thanks to "sharing."
Thanks to the TrackBack Ping Weblogger A (The author of the blog) can inform the Weblogger B that he wrote an article about something (criticism, comment, quote, etc. ...). A sends a TrackBack ping to B .

When a blog accetta commenti da altri blog, fornisce un link particolare per ogni articolo: l' URL di TrackBack .
Chiunque voglia scrivere un articolo in risposta ad un post, non deve fare altro che includere nel proprio articolo l' URL di TrackBack del post originale.
Il TrackBack Ping.
E' il cuore su cui si fonda il TrackBack.
Il TrackBack Ping informa un sito che qualcuno lo ha, in qualche modo, citato ( A invia un TrackBack Ping a B ).
Il TrackBack Ping rende possibili due cose fondamentali:

Il Weblogger B è able to automatically sort all sites that refer to a particular post on their site, thus allowing all its readers to visit other sites dealing with the same arguments, including the site of A. Weblogger

Ping provides an explicit link to site B.
When we read an article that interests us on another blog and would like to make a comment, we have two possibilities:

Add a comment directly on the blog that contains the original post

Write a new post on our TrackBack blog using the mechanism of the blog hosting the original post.
In the first case we would use the TrackBack Ping, however, we can insert the link to our blog or website information directly into the comment text. However, the space is reduced and the comment is not always enough to hold everything we say and perhaps illustrate it with some graphic elements.
In the second case, however, we could use the editor of our blog posts, and always appear, thanks to the TrackBack Ping, the list of comments on the original post.
